Perhaps we should start off with what spid is not. Spid is often confused with “speed”, as speed is often used as the measurement of success in athletics. While we at Spid Werkz recognize the value of and place for speed, we also emphatically express that spid is not speed and speed is not spid. (Note: those who are spid or have spid often also have speed, but this is not a requirement)
Spid is a concept that transcends traditional measurements of success in athletics such as speed, capability, strength, power, endurance, notoriety, victory, etc. Spid is a concept that can qualitatively quantify athletes and beyond. It fills the void where the aforementioned traditional measurements fall short by only scratching the surface of common metrics. Assuming the combination of the metrics creates a complete athlete picture is a false premise, in our view, and this is why spid is championed today.
Spid is an elegant way to define the “je ne sais quoi” of athletics and athletes. The “spid lifestyle” is built on high performance, dedication, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and community. As you can see, the high performance element is not only just a piece of the spid puzzle, but it too is defined in a way that does not rely on traditional metrics that create blinders for finding and celebrating athletes that are astronomical net positives to the world around them.
Any spid is good spid.
